CGI scripts assistance

CGI scripts assistance
I just signed up for the trail account and I am wondering if I need to do anything to get my CGI-BIN able to run scripts? I tried to type in http://gpstracking.jodoshared.com/cgi-bin/printenv.cgi and .pl and neither worked. Also, can a cgi script write to a directory in the root directory...- msburton
