Well, I don't think you can create processes, use DLLs/ActiveX controls, etc on Linux. All these things are supported only Windows and which I believe is what causes all the problems.

thanks for the info. i know I shouldn't really be asking this here but two more questions. 1) Is there any performance difference between RAID1 and RAID5 2) Does this mirroring occur all the time. Does it take some time for the secondary hard disk to kick in?

sorry, I'm not really an expert here on servers. What is RAID1?

hmm.. ok. one unrelated question because I may plan to take a dedicated server down the line. If a system or hard drive crash occurs, how do you recover data if you don't have a backup? I've seen very few hosting companies keep backups. how do they recover from such problems?

just one question. Wouldn't it be much easier to just pop in the tape backup you make and do a full system recovery rather than trying to revover from a fatal system crash? I'm not affected by this though. My db is on mssql2

I never really thought what a tough time it was to administer a windows server. I was with gearhost before but left them because they were charging alot of ms sql. They too faced alot of problems on a fairly regularly.. lol.. their notifications were poor though. I'm impressed with the jodohost...

I'd prefer jodo over CDX and webhost4life any day. CDX looks like they truly suck as Yash pointed out. I wouldn't be surprised if they are a reseller.

Actually I like HSphere alot. Gives me way more control on my hosting. Isn't perfect though. The reason HSphere isn't so commonly used is because its the most expensive of the available CP software

I remember sometime ago, you had stated that the main reason you are not going to switch to SDU then was possible overuse of your database servers. Have you solved that problem? Are slow SQL server speeds in the future (as jodo grows) a concern?

It's sad no one is looking at the SDU system. Creating a 100MB MS SQL database for $6.99 by any standards is unmatched. I take JodoHost's enterprise package though which is for $49.99. And at that price, now Im going to be able to create 1, 1GB MS SQL database and 3, 250 MS SQL databases...

site has little graphics. Combined with good jodohost server speeds makes the site load real fast me thinks. Dont think he optimized it in anyway
