I think it has to do with the shared environment and unloading of DLL's. My skin could be makeing it slow too. I made it and had no idea what I was doing.

I'm on win6 and sql2 I think. I know this topic has come up at the dnn forums and just wondered if people here experience a slow site. Page loads can take 10-20 seconds. I know if its the 1st time hit in a while that the dll has to load since it was probably removed from memory.

My DNN site is slow, it takes quite a while to load each page. Does anyone else experience this? Are the IIS servers IIS 6? Is compression on?

So I want IIS to recgonize index.php so it will load up a domain without a file name. How do I do this? I tried haveing a redirect from the plain domain to index.php, but it doesn't seem to work. I should say this is on a subdomain too.

Ok i have added the alias but still get no site. It is not resolving correctly. Do i need to change my DNS too?

Well I get past the login now but then for some reason I get and asp.net error. It seems the web manager doesn't like DotNetNuke.

I can't add a domain alias, it tells me the alias I want to add is already taken. I have it in hsphere do I need to delete it from hsphere?

I'm trying to add a parent portal too. I have 2 domain names registered. I want both to use in DNN. One is the host and i created a parent portal and redirected that domain to the host domain. Is that possible?

I have 3.1.1 running. It is a pain to initally get all the right permisions to run. Need to have asp.net user as a dbo for your database. Then it should work.

.Net components don't need to be registered anymore. Just put the DLL's in the bin directory.
