    Live Streaming

As an experiment I set up a webcam pointing at a clock (with a ticking second hand) then using free software streamed it to a page on my website which I could then watch to see the delay involved. You do need a decent connection to stream it up to the website of course, but there wasn't a huge...

    Live Streaming

Hi Fervent, I'm not an expert but when you say "live streaming" do you mean "real time" video or just showing pre-recorded video? In the first case I presume you'd be using a webcam and there is lots of software to allow it to stream to the server. In the second case you could simply make a link...

What about the slow restart for ASP.NET 2.0 sites

Anjinho, maybe this is duff gen but I presume you are compiling your programs first in Visual Studio 2003 (1.1) or Visual Studio 2005 (2.0)? If you are using the free Express version then as far as I can make out you can't compile the app, in which case the server has to compile it on first use...

    How not to get Spamcoped

ErikP, you are asking for trouble. It really is very simple to set up a confirmation system. If you end up getting Jodo email servers blacklisted you will incur the wrath of Stephen et al.

New site - time for some critique :)

Sorry Tristan - just checked the site in IE - no probs at all. I used the Tell A Friend feature to email the NHS letter to a few mates. Will add a link in my "Kniffty Of The Month" part of my new site. All the best

    www.welshlens.co.uk

Your "thumbnails" are around 140kb so hence a slow site - make proper small thumbnails. Overall design somewhat dated, a cleaner page would look better (eg flickr). Photos are good though.

Free Classified Advertising - Site Review

First impressions - very professional. Good idea to concentrate on small geographic area too. I suppose you can put small advertising cards up in local shops etc (as is common on this side of the pond) to spread the word. I think you have a winner here, good luck!

    Can anyone review my website?

Great stuff - I have bookmarked it for later use. Would it be possible to have an option to search ALL the engines at once?

Crikey tr1stan - off the wall or what! Fantastic! Bearing in mind the German penchant for toilet humour maybe you should have a German version too!

    review mysite

I think this site is just the ticket - a comprehensive overview of affiliate programs. I'll be making full use of it! From the design point of view, I think maybe there is just a tad too much white space between each paragraph (get rid of one or two <br/>'s). Well done and thanks for your hard work.

    Me Tarzan You Jane

V impressive Anjinho, and it loaded in less than 1 second (and I'm on a slothlike connection in S Africa just now). I can think of lots of people who could make use of your site, so will spread the word. All the best Rob

Is my new site kniffty or what?

Fed up with forever helping all and sundry friends/neighbours, I've just started this new site at www.kniffty.com (asp.net 1.1) which is there to help total numptys (like my wife who provides much of the inspiration for the video tutorials) There are millions of people out there who can't even...

New site - time for some critique :)

Using Firefox in IE rendering mode it was impossible to change the text size, which was minute. In Firefox rendering though it was fine. Jolly nice site but what exactly is it for? ..............later........just posted a letter as "General Public" Great fun I must admit, in the sort of Jeremy...
