normally you don't save an actual file in the database... i would just save the url to the PDF in the database and just pull from that to create the link to download it.

not really... you could put a fake mailserver name in the first one, knowing that it will fail.

your child nameservers may just not be propogated yet or set up correctly... might get that error if the registrar can't ping your nameservers...
