jodohost offline, sites offline, control panel offline

What's the ETA for getting the IP changed? Seems that's going to take another day by the time DNS gets refreshed for some sites?

    Early season ice/sleet storming

If I stopped work early every time it went below freezing I'd be able to take off from now until about May.

    Database user disappeared?

Thanks. Turned out the CP menus weren't there because I had Javascript turned off... duh. My bad. Just in case, I changed the CP login too as per your suggestion, but it's all very odd.

    Database user disappeared?

I have a ticket in for this TZK-15960-631 but I thought I'd mention here in case anyone else can shed light on the problem. I have a Wordpress site down, don't know how long, but it turns out it's because the database user disappeared completely from the CP on win38 ? The database is still...

Akshay sorted this out for me on ticket. Thank you.

    Error pages - win38

I guess I'll put a ticket in. I'd like the Hsphere redirect CP ones to work, mainly just for the 404 pages, but still would like to see full messages on ASP errors and the like. Nothing worse than trying to debug when about all you get is '500 error. It's not working.' :-) Is that possible? I...

    Error pages - win38

Hsphere custom error pages don't seem to work. The default 404 page on server 2008 is a little dramatic. Is this enabled, or is there a delay after setting up a new one in CP before it will work?

win38 sites down almost 2 hours

Seems better. No problems so far on the new application pool or db connection setup.

win38 sites down almost 2 hours

These sites were transferred from Win 2003 servers, where they've been for many years, and never had any similar problem until moved to win38. They are fairly low-traffic simple Classic ASP sites, and have no unusual processes running or components used, so I doubt if there is any code problem...

win38 sites down almost 2 hours

Unfortunately that has not cured this problem. They are currently up, but in the last 24 hours these sites have been down for approximately 2.5 hours, showing 503 errors each time. See the monitor image attached, just taken. (Easy to spot the three accounts I mean.) This has been typical each...

win38 sites down almost 2 hours

I appreciate that, however these sites are down again, this time for over 3 hours now. (I have a ticket in, and email to helpline.) The problem would seem to be a lockup in the application pool? I have had this problem before, but win38 and 39 seem to be more prone to it than others. It's...

    Flood of objectionable Spam

I'm sure my approach is really very similar to yours in many ways, having a similar background. My company drummed into us: fix the customer first, then the problem. In other words, keep them happy even if you can't sort out what they originally called you for. Lately, it's become so much...

    Flood of objectionable Spam

I hear you, but it's all work; many many hours of unpaid work that will come back to haunt you, because it's still your responsibility. I've spent dozens of 'free' hours on client sites for all kinds of things lately due to hosting problems, for $5-10 a month. (That's normally about 10 minutes...

    Flood of objectionable Spam

I had a similar problem recently with a client. I convinced them to switch to Gmail and helped them set up their mail domain there, and their mail client. It's not perfect, but ultimately they're much happier with Gmail's ability to sort out what's spam and what isn't, and they like the extra...

Sites down for 12 hours - win24 - ASP not working

I have a couple of sites down for about 12 hours due to ASP not working. Ticket DZX-22772-885 Is there no status check you guys run that alerts you to that? It's not always obviously from the web site front end that ASP doesn't work, which means sites can be down for many hours without anyone...
